    Hi

The gauges (speedo and tach) are "broken" on my -83 750 XJ Seca...
Can not find any original replacements so what I figured is that
I can just rip the computer out of the existing panel and integrate it in
a custom built one I am planning to make....should work?

Now I obviously need some gauges to put in this panel also, and I found
one guy who offer me a set of gauges from a couple of yamaha RD350
alternatively a RD500 (85-86 models)...which I should be able to shoehorn into a custom panel. I can get a set of these gauges (well used for approx 60-70$

Question is, will these work with the connections I have?
The tach is digital, speedo is not. Will the speedo go onto my existing speedo cable and will the tach be able to read the signals which currently goes to the old tach ??

    Thanks :)

Good news is that useable gauge clusters for your application show up on Flea-Bay fairly regularly.
Your idea of stuffing your parts into another gauge cluster should work just fine should you do your homework and wire the swapped instruments in correctly.
