I recently order some gear oil from Bel-Ray GearSaver. I'd heard from a local mechanic that he swears by it but the oil I was sent is straight SAE 90 gear oil.

Will this work in the final drive of an XJ700 or will the straight SAE 90 cause problems for the bearings since it's recommended 80-90?

90 weight should be ok in a hot climate, but it has to be GL-5, or "hypoid" gear oil.
