Hello all, recently bought back my old bike due to fond memories. a 1982 maxim xj650j. Love this bike, am wondering if anyone has a windshield recommendation for this bike - did yamaha offer a windshield as an accessory in 1982?? If so that's the one I would like to get. If not then have to go aftermarket and am looking for a good fit on this bike and others experience.

maybe4, if you're interested in the hellfire, I have one that I'd sell to ya. The shield is in almost new condition, with 1 scratch (which you could buff out). I was never able to get it to sit on the bike in a way that I liked, but others have had better luck. I ended up deciding that I prefer the look of the bike without the shield and I do mostly city riding anyway, so I don't really need one.

Send me an email if you're interested and I can send pics:

I have a Slpistreamer Spitfire on my Seca....Its good but I wish I had a little more cover. If had to buy another one it would definately be the Hellfire.

I also use the Spitfire, and I find I quite like it :) JUST enough coverage, but not too much, and it doesn't act as a sail for me :)

If you plan on trips, consider a National Cycle Street Shield. It's taller than some other options, but does not have side wings, so it' still looks cleaner.

That's real similar to the Street Shield

I have a SLipstreamer III - haven't had a chance to ride much since I put it on, but I like the look and it's got good coverage. Trying to get a picture up. I'm stuck using a PS3 for Internet right now and it's a little challenging trying to get pictures up using IE6.
