I am missing the windshield and i think what is called the fareing on my bike,

I have been checking ebay and the like, is the windshield attached to the fareing or is it mounted elsewhere, I thought I saw a pic of a newer seca that had no fareing but had the windshield.

Anyone know where I could get either setup. or the name of what it is I need so my search may be a bit more successful.

What's holding that Headlamp on that bike?
    Black Duct Tape?

I think your missing some bodywork, too.
There's a whole front Cowling that's supposed to be on the front of a Secall.

The Cowling has an opening for the Headlight and a small windscreen, along with fairing sides that extend back toward to the fuel tank!

I havent dug into the tape yet, I think it is keeping the lens on. Their is a braket that the light is mounted to and it feels really solid. Any Idea where I can get the cowling. I havent seen any on ebay, are there any other aftermarket shops that may carry one?

I'd take the stock light out and mount up a set of dual lights .... :)

I'd restore the bike to it's stock look. For that you need the Cowling and fittings.

    Easiest way:
Search the Web for Jap Bike Used Parts Suppliers.
Find one with an 800 Number
    Call the place.
Tell them EXACTLY what you are looking for and have the Bikes VIN Number handy.

They will either have it or not.
If they don't have it ask them if they will put the "Want" on the "Wanted Teletype"

You'll come-up with what you need in short order.

You can also get into the "want" system through a bunch of different old bike parts websites, it was how I found the stock mufflers for my Seca. Also have found that eBay search engine is erratic, pays to search under a number of different combinations of "Yamaha" "XJ" and your model, get widely varying results. And yes, there are aftermarket replacement fairing pieces available but putting together the whole thing that way would be EXPENSIVE. Or leave it nekkid, like this: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/buyersgu ... XJ600N.jpg Apparently they were "fairingless" when they first came out...
