If I were planning on cleaning my carbs during the winter do I still need to bother with the fuel stabilizer? Or should I just stop the fuel line and run the gas out of the carbs? Is there another reason to run stabilized fuel into the engine besides getting it into the carbs?

You want to stabilize the gas in the tank. A full tank means less rust.
