Hello, I am posting a new post on my xj1100 wiring problems. The problem started some time ago but am now just getting to it. The problem I now have is with the neutral safety wiring. I have a video that explains the problem. Take a look and let me know if you can help. I now have power to the tail light. I found that a connector in the headlight that was the problem. The blue and white wire that I had connected to the blue Neutral switch is a ground or is grounded and that was making the neutral light stay on. But where should it go? And where does the powered blue wire go? help

i dont know much about wiring but with my short problem with an unworking neutral safety switch i found out the light comes on when the nsswitch is grounded ...i suspect the sky blue is connected to the darker blue is a bipass perhaps because the sidestand or n safety switch are intermittent problem ... the only other thing i know is the power for the light of the neutral safety switch on the xj750 runs off the brown tacho wire not sure if the same ...but dont take my word for it im hack when it comes to wiring

Your connector with the following wire colors: Yellow solid, Yellow/red tracer, White/green tracer, Brown solid, and Black solid is for the turn signal self-canceller............which is a rubber-coated rectangular "cube".

Your connector with the following wire colors: Black solid, Red/white tracer, Blue/white tracer, and Black/white tracer (note: this is probably a Blue wire with a yellow tracer stripe, when wires get old and dirty the yellow tracer can appear to be white, clean the wire with something mild that won't remove paint, I.e.water/windex/rubbing alcohol/etc. in a small spot and see if the white tracer stripe isn't really a yellow tracer stripe) is for the sidestand relay (which is a small "cube" relay), and is part of the bike's safety system. The cube could have either a yellow zinc-plated metal (original) or black plastic (replacement) cover on it, and should have "4U8" inked on the top face of the cover (along with other markings).

The blue wires.....are they solid blue, or do they have any tracer stripes on them?

Thank for the info. The blue wires are sky blue and Blue with white tracer. I did pull the flasher canceler because it was not working last year. The sky blue wire is somehow connected to the NSS. I had it to the B-W wire and that was a ground, So that is why the Neutral light stayed on when running in all gears. I ended up rapping them up and not using them. The light works as it should now. How much do you charge for the canceler? I don't really need it but I might put one in. One other thing I have a cube zinc in color that is connected to the sidestand switch. It clicks when I put the stand up. It is near the battery. It was connected when I made the video. ?

Blue wire with white tracer: that's the tail/brake light wire, runs all the way from a 9-place connector shell that goes into the dash (perhaps located in the hlite bucket) and feeds the LCE dash display and runs to the rear tail/brake light bulb.

Sky blue wire: part of the safety system, runs from the starting circuit cut-off relay (again, a small metal "cube" with Red/white tracer, Black/yellow tracer, another Red/white tracer, and the Sky Blue wire), taps off of the actual neutral switch (in the engine case), and onto a 6-place connector (again, might be inside the headlight bucket) which feeds the Neutral warning light on the dash. This relay is located under the fuel tank, behind the right side ignition coil, and is a small metal (original) or plastic (replacement) "cube" relay, inked 4H7-00, 4H7-01, or 12R-01 on the top face. It has NO colored paint mark on the bottom terminal connector block.

Sounds like someone was trying to dis-able the safety system on the bike, probably due to a problem with it not starting, so they just started cutting wires........

You can use a voltmeter on the CONTINUITY function to trace the wires. I would suggest putting everything back to stock, for both safety purposes and to make troubleshooting easier in the future.
