I'm wiring up my hardtail xj750 and just wondering if the rectifier and ignition module need to be protected from the elements. Obviously they cant be submerged in water but will a little rain here and there or puddle splash damage these components? Originally they have the fairing covers protecting them so I assume they don't play well with water. Any help would be great! Thanks!

The rectifier should be OK, but i would keep the TCI indoors.

The connections should be shrouded well but the TCI should be kept out of the splashes... I'm rebuilding a TCI that took a mud bath right now. Best advise is to seal the circuit board with polyurethane and then pack the connector with silicone dielectric grease.
