So I just ordered myself a FSM for my 81 maxim, but i'm a little impatient and want my bike in running order now. The left turn signal on my bike works (front and rear), however, the right turn signal is messed up. In the front, the blinker wont actually blink, it just stays solid, and in the rear, the signal wont light up at all. Is my left rear light out? and I assume i've got a relay out or something for the front light, but i'm not sure where that would be located on our bikes. Can someone point me to an online wiring diagram or give me some help? Thanks :)

If the rear doesn't light, start with the bulb and check the bulb to see if it's burned out or the socket corroded. Then checn for 12V at the wires. Black is ground I forget the color from the signal but it'll be the other one.

It won't flash without both bulbs of the proper wattage being installed and working.

Exactly. The right front is staying on (with the rear bulb out) because it alone isn't drawing enough current to trip the flasher.

The system requires 2 X 27W bulbs (per side) to draw enough current for the flasher to flash. Standard automotive 1156's are 27W.
