Well any time u buy a 30 plus yr old bike that was most likely not taken care of you your gonna need to put some money into it to make a safe bike to ride.
Like fitz says 600-800 if you have the tools. It might be more maybe less. DO NOT trust the po.

Thery are all money pits; even brand new motorcycles are. That one has a set of non-standard pipes, and is missing a side cover. Offer $750 if it runs; but I'd pay the $900 myself and still be happy. The total cost of recomissioning will still put you at less than $2k for what will be a reliable vehicle.

I'd definitely go for a look, do the 1100s have an oil pressure light or low level? the light's on in the pics so check it's got enough oil & sounds OK before anything else

ALL 30-year old bikes are "money pits" unless you're paying top dollar and buying it from an enthusiast who's already done all the necessary work. However, as mentioned above, they're still a bargain compared to the cost of a new bike these days.

$700 tops contingent upon the results of a compression test; if it doesn't make good numbers then walk away. That's a relatively high mileage, if most critical maintenance has been neglected it could be on its last legs.
