After a run, getting the bike hot, i'll switch her off and she'll restart straight away, but if i leave it a minute or so it'll turn over strong and evenutally it will start, when it does it goes well allthough a bit lumpy on tick over

The bike is seviced with new plugs, cleaned carb and i had the carbs tuned

So, i don't know where to start looking next, any idea's??

When you try to restart, are you using the choke? On my bike using the choke with a warm engine causes very hard starts.

Welcome to the club! Mine tends to flood itself when it sits after a ride. If I restart it right away, no problem. If it sits for 10 or 15 minutes, then it floods itself and I have to use wide open throttle to get it started and cleared out. If it sits til it's cold it starts right away too. I am going to clean my carbs in a month or so, before I start riding, and I plan to adjust the floats to the lowest recommended setting. Hopefully this will help. I'll be watching this thread to see what you come up with.

    Thanks for the welcome RangerG!!

It could be quite possible it's flooded, it seem's to have good compression turning over, when it does start it's straight away and is runs like as if it was just turned off, like your bike if left til cold it starts straight away.

No, i don't use the choke when restarting, Madone1

I'll investigate the flooding and get back to you, also looking through the others in the forum their's someone who used a weak pipe for the vacume to the petcock, when the bike got hot the pipe closed getting softer, causing the bike to be hard to start and eventually cut out with lack of fuel getting down, that's another thing i've to check.

Unfortunatly i don't get much of a chance to ride her much, but when i do i'll let you know

mine acts like it is running very lean after a ride(it will crank over very fast and slowly pick up until it idles

It could be in in need of a valve adjustment. the compression may go down because the shims get hot...I know what I am trying to say....just can't say it.
