XJ 600 51J 1986 ... IC IGNITOR swap ... :)help!

    first to say HI to all ;)

    i have little bit problem ... can not find here ( Serbia ) original ignator TID14-31/49A-10 only this one TID16-06/5G2-10 and i have no idea can i do that ?:) .. can i put that other type on my XJ600 ?
    what's the worst that can happen ?:)

    -If the plugs all match, it MAY work.

    HOWEVER

    The main difference would be the timing advance curve; the worst that could happen would be the bike won't run correctly and you could damage the engine, long-term.

    Are you SURE the TCI unit is your problem?

    I agree with Fitz. Check everything else before diagnosing the TCI is faulty. Check first that you have 12v to the TCI with the ignition on as well as sidestand switch and kill switch.

    Do you have a manual / electrical drawing and test meter?
