xj 650 engine removal.

    im bobbing out my 80 xj650 i have it stripped down and all thats left to do is remove my engine. can i just undo the drive shaft bolts connecting to the universal joint pull the motor mounts and slid it out side ways or is there anything else i have to take off

    I removed the engine on my 650 a few weeks ago, make sure that all connectors are off, get the spark plug cables out of the way, remove the oil filter and the cover. All I did tie a big climbing rope around the engine and lowered the bike until it rested on one side. It took a little elbow grease but all was left was to lift the frame and you end up with the engine resting on the side.
