First motorcycle, first build, first pain in my ass! So I began my build in the last 2 months, decided to stick to the 80's considering my love for difficulty in the simplicity of pre-ecm mechanics. Well known to the challenges presented by carburetors and old school "ear to the motor" methods I have dived in none the less. So here we go with the infamous "to do" list:
New tank (off what I believe is a seca)
Valve cover gasket (broke the cam cap cover while torquing- new one otw thanks to len from xj4ever)
    Clutch cover gasket
    Oil sump gasket
Standard spark plug replacement (had to use a thread chaser on cyclinder 2 plug housing- another shout out to len for making life easy in that regard as well)
Oil filter + oil change (len again!)
Going to redo the electrical sysytem with the upgraded m-unit in late October
Front fork conversion to R1 forks (also in october- the fun fund is wearing thin)
    And sooo much more.

Welcome to the party @Logan Schumacher !!

looks like it’s coming along nicely

Budgeting your time and money is an important skill. Sounds like you’re doing pretty well. Don’t forget about winter projects - those sorts of projects you can do while the bike is parked and you’re not itching to get out and ride.

Thanks, and unfortunately for me I have a "up & running" goal by november. Gas prices have driven me to the brink of walking my 30 mile commute to work so this is my hail mary, but couldnt bring myself to buy something easy and "road worthy". Really, where's the fun in any of that? Always been a sweat and grit kinda kid, looking back, probably coulda had a simpler project. But onward and upward, hind sights never been much fun anyhow.
