xj 750 -no lights! help?

    hey everybody been a while mr dependible 1982 maxim xj750 4yrs now.heres the issue lost headlight and speedo cluster bulbs ,checked power is good thru fuse box goes thru red/yellow tracer and then what color does it change to to get up to electronics? looks like there was a fire or slight burn in wire going into speedo/tach cluster tested a few wires and one is not that bright with tester,seems grounded or something.burn marks on bottom of digital intruments batt,oil,kickstand,etc.no power to head light and no power to 2 bulbs in instrument panel ,light are good and so is head light.no high beam or low beam eather.tail light works as well as brake light ,turn signals any ideas is the instrument panel fried?is ther a wiring diagram for 1982 xj750 maxim somewhere on here

    p.s are the turn lights supposed to stay on when operating not incuding turning?

    Well.. you have to at least correct the damage caused by the fire.

    All I can say is, no, the turnlights are not supposed to stay on unless YOU trigger it.

    From looking at my wiring diagram, the R/Y wire from the fuse box goes to the W/L (white blue) in the headlight relay. Note that I have a different bike, but hope this helps.
