XJ 900 New Fuel Sending unit

    BTW- this site was a tremendous help when rebuilding my XS500 and general repairs on my friends XJ750.
    I recently bought a super rare XJ900 which I am rebuilding and now dealing with parts being super rare. After determining it has a functional gas gauge and a non- working sending unit, I realized that XJ sending units in general are hard to find. While seaching ebay, I found that a sending unit from a Yamaha Grizzly looked about the same so I bought a new one hoping it would work. The round float fits in the existing mounting hole and the bolt patterns line up as well. I tested the resistance range and it also matches that of an XJ. Just had to bend the arm a bit to have correct range of motion in the tank.

    I did notice that the blocking plates sold by xj4ever are the same for 550 and 750

    Fuel Sender Block-Off Plates:

    HCP6371SET Aftermarket fuel sending unit BLOCK-OFF PLATE AND GASKET. Fits all XJ700 and XJ750-X tanks.


    H5CP6373SET Aftermarket fuel sending unit BLOCK-OFF PLATE AND GASKET. Fits all 1984-85 FJ600, 1984 XJ750RL, and XJ900 tanks.
