I´m from Finland (sorry for my bad language!) and starting a dirt/flat-tarcker/bratbike project.
My bike is 1983 xj 900.
My biggest problem is xj´s "ugly" fuel tank!!!
I would like replace that... but any ideas what or which tank will fit xj+s frame whitout cutting and weldin? Mark and model?
    Thanks allready.

Welcome to the site. There have been a couple of builds with different tanks, but all of them required some modification. The tanks used were from a Honda CB, a Kawasaki, a Suzuki GS, Hodaka and other Yamaha's like XS or dirt bike tanks. I believe the other Yamaha tanks will be the easier fit. Good luck with your build.

Any XJ tank will fit, don't know if the 550 tank is smaller than the 900 or the same volume.

ugliness is in the eye of the beholder mate!

for the tracker style youre going for a small tank would be in order. like the one on adrian1's link, beeautiful.

if you plan on ditching the 900 tank pm me :)
