    Yes, looking good.
The angle the plate is mounted at will make it hard to get the numbers too.

I have owned dozens of VW's in my lifetime. Including 3 GTi's. When you can take cloverleafs at 60+ mph and still have more you will know why. Light weight and when built right will out handle almost anything.

Can't wait to see the pics. If the bike doesn't sell I may see if I can get a stock header to cut up and build something to hug up tighter under the bike and make something a little more radical.

Cool deal. If I can just give you one piece of advice though....Get rid of the tab that mounts to the hub gear box and replace it with one of the original shock mounts. Looks much cleaner. Just cut off the mount from the shock and there ya go. Plus, the rubber bushing will keep you from cracking the aluminum case from the vibration and potholes it'll be seeing. What little give the bushing has is just enough to help out with the stress but not overstress the right side mounting point. Especially if you air down the tire a bit, which makes for a more comfortable ride as well. Worth the bit of mileage you'll lose on that tire.

I love it! My project it similure.. I do have a question for you. You, like I, have removed the air box and opted for cone filters. This is all fine for me, except once the bike is hot.. I get a lot of oil vapor/smoke coming fron the oil cone filter on the gear selector cover. Is this normal? Did you have to overcome this issue, if so, how? :0)

LOVE your bike dude! :D I hope you don't mind - I stole one of your pics to use for the wallpaper on my computer  I'm hoping to build my "82 750 into something very similar (with a little different flavor of course).

Hope you found some time to ride man!
