Why is it such a problem to get the XJ CD in a reasonable amount of time? I sent in my funds at least 3 weeks ago and still nothing. I emailed the person I ordered it from with no reply. Is it really that hard to run a copy of 3 cd's? You can do other stuff while they are burning, you don't have to sit and watch them. Even if you do watch, it doesn't take very long at all with a 52x burner.

Does anybody have the set that they could run me a copy from until mine come in the mail? I can show you a photo from my banks website of the cashed check I used to pay for the cd's as prrof that I did in fact order them and pay.

Probably not a good idea to post a copy of your check on the internet as it has your account and routing numbers, your full name and address, and your signature.

Sometimes the CD's are slow in coming but definately worth the wait. They are done by vollenteers out of the goodness of their heart. The nominal charge is nothing compared to the info you get, and the huge amount of work to compile all that stuff in one place from all across the globe.

Any particular info you need you can ask for here on this forum and you should get a response pretty quickly.

I wasn't going to post a pic of the check here, and I was going to photoshop out the important info.

I have in fact been getting my info here, but I don't like to be a drag on other people. That's why I bought the cd's. Seems that by the time I get them I will be done with the majority of the work I needed them for.

Another thought to anybody involved with the mailing of cd's that reads this would be to have a "changing of the guards" so to speak. I understand that the people doing it are volunteers, and if they no longer have the time or ambition to do it there needs to be somebody else. Either that or add people authorized to do it.

Yeah, mine took a while also. I have the last 2 CD version and I am still going to upgade to the new one.

Still, I have used them almost every time I work on my bike since I got them 2 years ago.

    You'd make a good volunteer.

You'd understand the pain of waiting and would make sure that no one would have to feel it as you did.

Yeah, I WOULD do it if they asked me. And if I got tired of doing it I would step down and let someone else do it instead. There is nothing worse than having to wait for an item that you have already paid for.

Now, I can understand having to wait until a personal check clears, but even with that wait it should not take a month to get them.

Here is my request to the group responsible for passing out the CD's:

Have 1 authorized person WHO WANTS TO sell the cd's just on this forum. Start a thread asking the members here if there is somebody who would like to volunteer. If nobody else will do it I will volunteer, but that is not my objective with this thread. My objective with this thread is to get some wheels turning.

I seem to recall that the person who sends them out travels extensively for work and then bulk ships them when home.

Your frustration is understandable. Perhaps a statement when purchasing the cd's that says it could take up to x weeks to arrive would alleviate a lot of the waiting heartache. If you know up front, then you know what to expect. In your case, I believe you expected the cd's to arrive in a couple of days.

Just some food for thought. Incidently, my cd's came in no time but I think it is a different person for Canadian orders.

I don't want to name anyone, so I will just leave it as the people who ship the cd's.

I expected it to take a couple of weeks, but we are nearing a month now.

Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it other than discuss the pain of waiting, right? Maybe the next guy will read this thread and know what to expect.

This has been a problem for some time. I once offered to act as the mailer when the complaints first started coming. But it is a tight niched group and it will stay that way. Best advice I can give is to order from the Canadian mailer.

Fraps, your right on the money about the shipper. He's got his hands full with twins too.
Piersol, don't get too discouraged, it took me a year, yes thats right a year, to get my CDs. For the volume that he handles, one or two do fall through the cracks. You might just be in the same boat I was. You might want to get in touch with Dwayne Verhay at verhey@surenet.net and let him know what is going on. There was an issue with contact with/from the shipper in my case. Drop Dwayne a line. He'll help get it straightened out.

Well, I have been exchanging emails with Dwayne from Canada, and he has been MORE than helpful! Here is his first email reply to me:

I'd hate to see you pay twice and end up with two copies, and there's generally a bit of a delay sending things south through customs. What are you working on? I can e-mail you relevant pages for your immediate needs. I'll also try to contact xxxxxx -- sometime's his ISP has been known to incorrectly identify legitimate mail as spam, but stuff from me seems to always get through to him. If I can't get a response from him by the end of the weekend then I'll look after you. Fair enough?

    tafn

    Dwayne

Dwayne did in fact send me a couple of pages through email, and it is helping me out. I have gotton a couple of answers that I didn't even realize I wanted to know, LOL.

So, if worse comes to worse, I will send more $$ to Dwayne to get the cd's. If I end up with 2 sets of CD's so be it. From what I have seen posted here, and what Dwayne sent me in the email $20 doesn't seem like too much to pay for the information that I will be receiving :)
