I picked up an factory oil cooler from a guy overseas that says it came off an '82 XJ750.......when I got it in, it's certainly a Yamaha oil cooler, but the cooler is short (height) and quite wide----as compared to the XJ650 Turbo coolers that I'm most familiar with. Has a REALLY long (smooth) stud on the top of the oil tank for a rubber bushing and 3/4-round "armor" around the side tanks from top-to-bottom.

Any idea what this puppy is off of?

Hmmmmmm....looks very similar, only difference is the protective tank "armor" wrap in this cooler has holes in it, rather than slotted openings. Otherwise, close enough for government work. Thanks.

The stand-off plate sounds like the XS850 unit I had. Same depth, just really big in diameter. Pictures?

No pictures....camera is in death throes. But it's not from an XS850....the mounting bracket is on the bottom of the cooler (or was, someone twisted it off!) not on the sides.........
