XJ production numbers by model and year.

I've searched the forums and can't find anything on this! I'm looking for the total production quantity for my bike, 1981 XJ650LH Midnight Maxim. I'm not looking for the chronological build number in the VIN, but how many were actually made by Yamaha.

If it's not posted on the forum, it would be nice to see the total production quantity for each XJ throughout the years.

Have fun looking. That isn't information that Yamaha has shared publicly, and to my knowledge nobody outside of Yamaha has ever come across any documents about that.

 

I could have swore I saw the info somewhere before, I don't remember where. I wanted to say my bike had 1100 or so made. Maybe it was all a dream, because it's a blur right now. I don't think it would be proprietary information and even if it was, bikes sold prior to the year 2000 wouldn't give the competition any sort of edge. I'll continue to see if I can dig the info up, it's out there and when I find it I'll post it.

I think the key question in the thread was how low was your vin number

I appreciate the link; however, my question is about total bike production quantities or how many were made in total broken down by country. There's a log of the quantity made, but where is it? Japan most likely.
