Hello folks - It's been a LONG while since I've been on the XJ list - much less - when I had hosted several XJ Carb Clinics here in the Dallas, Texas area - back I believe in 2005-2006 timeframe...

I have long since passed my bikes along to a new owner... however, whilst cleaning out the ole work-shed, I uncovered several XJ related items that I'd like to pass along to the group if needed...

    - XJ650/750 chromed seat rack (was for a 750, but was told that it would fit a 650 as well) My bikes were '82 models (650 Maxim, and 750 Seca) - I paid $85 IIRC - and will let it go for $30 (rack only - no mounting hardware)

    - Mike Oberle Spin-On oil filter adapter - never installed. I don't recall what I paid for it - but I've got it priced at $25 I'll throw in (2) NGK 14mm BP7ES spark plugs that I have as well.

    - TourTank (2.5 gallon I believe - but it could be the 2-gal model) - with black powdercoated brackets. Never installed. $75.00

If needing to ship the items - actual shipping / postage will be added. I'm still located in Richardson, Texas - so shipping will be from 75081 zip code. Otherwise - if anyone wants these items and is in Dallas - I can meet you for the transaction.

Feel free to call me at the number listed below - or email me privately ( Rex at BohemianUtopia dot com ) if further details are needed.

Hey Rex I'm local her in Dallas off the tollway and Frankford I could really use some help with carbs. I painted a mans house for a 1985 xj750 maxi X, the thing was trashed but I figured I would do whatever to get my first bike. After a few days of cleaning it up I got it running but it would die if I just let it idle and I had a leak in the petcock. I rebuilt the petcock then got 4 carb rebuild kits. Someone I think one of my ex roommates or my dad who doesn't want me on a bike pulled all the fuel lines apart so I put them back on in a way that kind of made sense to me but I don't really know much about carbs. Anyway I put some gas in it and tried to fire it up and all of y fuel leaked out from everywhere. I mean even the air filter pods but silly which was the most confusing to e was the bottom of the drive shaft out of a little rubber nipple spout looking thing it was flowing like crazy. And it seemed like it wasn't just fuel, I'm pretty sure there was oil in it too anyway if you could help that would be awesome I've had this bike for 5 months now and have put about 3 miles on it and it kills me that I've missed the entire summer of riding almost. Or if you know anybody local that would help please give me a shout anytime day or night on my cell 214-235-6351 -skyler-
