im thinking of changing my standard double seat to a single seat to maybe give the bobber look but im looking for a cheap and cheerful way of doing it,was wondering if anyone on here gave the standard seat a chop before and if so did it work out and look ok?does it sound do-able im thinking of cutting and recovering, surely cant be too hard

Sure, it's been done, but why not save your seat, get 2 squares of scrap plywood and a couch cushion and figure out exactly what you want first?
Couches come with perfect vinyl on the back.
The small square locates the seat in the frame.

Always save the stock seat; cut up the one you get off eBay for $10.

make your own seat pan out of fiber glass. first lay down a wet sheet of cord board then form it n cut it the way you want then lay down some glass n gel.

i think i know what you mean but why 2 bits of plywood? would it not be a matter of one bit on the bike frame and then the sponge stuck onto it and covered?

dont think i could manage the fibre glass it seems like alot of work...

I got my solo seat for 20 bucks off ebay, then sold my stock for $135...

edit: let me add though, I had to make brackets then weld them to the frame...
