    Hi all.

    I have a XJ550 4V8 -82 (so the European model).

Its rebuild with what I think is a CB650 Brake Cylinder which is broken beyond repair.

I now want a Yamaha one (might as well) and where I live (Sweden) its hard to find parts that don't have a real long delivery time (with customs and all) so:

I have found a XS650 Master Brakecylinder for 77-84 model.

This one has a fitting for 22mm handlebar and M10x1.25 mm banjobolt fitting. It has a 16mm bore (so 5/8" which also seems correct).

I will also order two copperwashers for the banjobolt.

So my question is, if anyone know that the XS650 MBC does fit on a XJ550?

It would save me both time and energy to get it for a reseller here in Sweden. I asked them but they were not sure if it would fit, so before I order I would just like to check here.

    Thanks!

I recenty fitted this one to my 4V8..
/.. looks similar to the one you have lined up . I previously had one from a GPZ 550 I think .
I swappped it after I refurbed the calipers with new seals and pistons bit it diodn't make much difference
the brakes are still a bit crap. I have braided hose but they're quite old so perhaps thats now the problem.
