    Hi all -

I have run into a snag trying to replace the lower fork slider case oil seals

It seems they have somehow welded themselves in there pretty good, probably have not ever been changed - I have a dremel handy but I am not sure if it would be safe to use in this area - or what attachment to use

So far I have just been trying to scrape out the rubber with a small semi dull screw driver

just wondering if anyone else has had this trouble and what is the best course to take?

    Thanks!!

You're not the only one. I just changed mine several weeks ago and struggled as well. After beating them with a screwdriver they were damaged but I was able to get a slip-joint plier in there to grab 'em and pull out. Installing the new ones weren't much easier but at least pounding it in with a rubber mallet and socket of same width, was easier than pulling it out... gawd that sounds dirty... :p :p
