Xj550 Maxim forward controls

Hello all, been a while since I've been on. I have a 1982 XJ550 Maxim I am doing a bobber project with. I'm tall so the standard control will not work. I have seen a few universal kits from various places one being TC Bros. They do have a forward control kit for the XJ650. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the xj650 and xj550 are close enough frame size and set up that the controls for the 650 will work on my 550. Or are there some differences in the frame and set up that'll make it not work? Any help would be great! Thanks.
