So I just took my first run on my XJ. 50 mile loop and it was sweet to finally run it after all the work I've done. Amazing how long it took to fix carbs and brakes and electrical, then paint and..... I'm preaching to the choire I know.
Well this is my first street bike ever and the ride was realy rewarding. I never knew what I was getting into but now I know a lot about working on this bike. My buddy riding his new Harley would never know the effort I had to put in to join the ride...haha it was fun and frustrating I guess. Now I am gonna show off my work. Only the guys on this site can really appreciate what this took to make happen. Let me know what you think.

    looks great
what amazes me more than anything is how
many HD owners will not even think about working
on their own bikes.. they happily pay someone 120 dollars
an hour for others to work on their bikes
are they really that scary to work on?

That looks great, better than some of these big dollar "custom" bikes we seem to see so much of.
Doesn't matter what your mate on his Harley thinks, he won't be able to catch ya'
Nice and clean congrats mate and enjoy.

    Sweet with a capital S!

I agree with Hot Cakes - most of the HD people I know take them to the stealer ship. . . even for oil changes. :(

Where did you hide the battery and electrics?

It's not pretty but here's what's under the seat. WPS lithium battery is nice and small and crazy light weight. All the metal support is made of bent sheet alluminum. Still refining this set up but it is in working order now.

That is one sweet ride, nice work. You should submit to bikex or pipeburn.

Not my "cup o' tea", but it looks like a damn fine job. Very nice paint too.
