As promised, here is a picture of the clock I made out of an old XJ550 Maxim Fuel Tank. It is also the first project I've done with my new HVLP automotive paint gun kit.

I thought you installed a clock on the tank of a running bike, let's say, next to the fuel cap...

Haha that's exactly what I thought when I read the title of the post! Looks nice though & a good use for a dead tank.

You could also put both halves standing up side by side to make a big heart for next Valentine's Day, but you would need to repaint it red, lol!

    This guy's truly inspired! 8)

Only trouble for me though would be it's pointlessness since I'm single & very happily so

i thought the same as everyone else but now i really want to figure out how to make a working clock like the OP's, but on my bike. get some clock guts and seal them up somehow inside the tank and have a super slick and minimal clock on my tank. that would be sweeeet!

Guess you could cut the base out of the tank, drill the hole for the hands to fit on & another for the wiring to come out the bottom (maybe have to use a plug & socket, old sender unit or something to get the wiring to seal) then fit the clock, spot weld a box around it & seal the seams with tank sealant before welding the base back in the tank?

Lot of work but could look really cool, maybe one either side & work an old fashioned bell alarm into the tank top lol
