I'm looking for some tips or opinions on the following:

I've removed the tank badges from a XJ550R Seca (1982) and plan on filling the area where they mount and then repainting. How would you guys go about filling that area? Would you try to grind out the mounting bracket? Would you just use some stripper to get the paint out of the depression? How would you prep the depression behind the bracket so that the Bondo would adhere?

I appreciate any and all thoughts or ideas.

    Thanks!

hasn't this been covered numerous times??? Bondo is your friend. tap the brackets in flat with a screwdriver and hammer and fill away!

I just did this a few days ago. I just took the badges off and about....... 4-5 solid hours of bondo/paint work and viola no badges.

I just did this as well and while I cant speak of longevity but i used the fibergalss bondo. I know from further experiance that regular bondo doesnt like to get to thick.
