it has a new sintered fuel filter. and it has a new petcock. i did the mouth suck test and it was working on the bench. the petcock just doesnt seal when the smallest of crap goes thru it. i think the solution is to get the tank as clean as possible. even tho it looked good to me after the last time i cleaned it. maybe more acid.

In that case check the petcock screen in the tank for tears.

    an update:
cleaned the tank again and put a screen over the petcock intake. has been running great. no fuel leakage, perfect running bike. ive put probably close to a hundred miles on it with no problems.
    until now.
Now it doesnt want to keep a steady idle. it slowly lowers the idle until it dies (takes about a 30 seconds to go from 1100 rpm to dead). runs great until its at a stop. ive increased the idle screw, but thats just making the rpms hang up when coming off the throttle. plus, i dont think it should be that since it was running perfect a few days before.
any suggestions? clogged fuel filter? loose petcock vacuum tube? plan on taking a deeper look when im off work
