I have the line on a fork from an 83 XJ750. Unfortuately the top tree accepts the square bars, my bike has round bars. Is there a top tree from another year XJ750 the will fit the 83 forks and accept round bars? I'm pretty sure the current XJ 650 top tree wont fit the 750 forks *someone correct me if I'm worng on this). ANy info is apprecitated, thanks

Silly question but why couldn't you use the top bar from your 650 with the rest of the 750 assembly?

Another silly question!: does anyone make an adapter that allows you to bolt a set of round bars onto a "flat-bar" upper yoke/crown/tree (whatever it's called!). All it would need to be is a 7/8" diameter saddle block with two holes to allow the clamping screws to go through (the '83 "flat-bar" upper tree has a flat machined pad where the square handlebars attach, with two drilled/tapped screw holes).

    Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

Get a hold of your machinist buddy and have him whip one out for you. I'm not aware of anyone making an adaptor but it shouldn't be that difficult. If the cost is way out there, marry your buddies sister and ask him for a favor...JUST kidding!
