I'm experiencing an erratic idle and I think I'm getting vacuum leaks through the intake manifolds. Intake manifolds are all cracked. I saw a set for an XJ550 available. Will these fit an XJ650?

    I don't think so.

Verify there is a leak with an unlit propane torch (w/ gas turned on).

If idle changes whilst torch is being 'sprayed' around boots then consider doing the bicycle inner tube trick to repair them.

I'll try it. Has anyone tried liquid electrical tape? Or a combo of inner tube and tape?
    Thanks

I did the liquid tape and it made a dramatic improvement. I'll probably add the inner tube later. It was also way too lean. I had 41's in there and I needed 4-5 turns out on the mixture screws just to idle. I also had no power from idle to about 20 mph (sounded like a Harley) then the power would kick in like a beast. I moved up to 45's with 2.5 turns out. I removed the little brass washers that I used to lift the main jet needles. So I'm back to stock there. Much smoother now.
