XJ650 Muffler gaskets - alternatives

    Just bought a replacement exhaust system for my 1982 XJ650J Maxim. Was surprised that the gaskets from the headers to exhaust and the join of the crossover pipes are about $15 each (more than I paid for my complete system). Are there any cheaper alternatives. I am thinking of a "universal" type of gasket.
