XJ650 progress

    So been working on my sons bike, with the help of this forum. Great input and learning tons of great information. So far done following....

    Valves in spec
    Carbs cleaned - new jets etc
    Floats wet set
    Carbs sync. - color tuned
    New stainless front brakes hoses - MC rebuild
    New rear brake shoes
    Cleaned and polished all chrome
    Painted number of parts black
    Rust off exhaust and polished
    New gas cap ordered

    Very nice. Great work. I like the shorty bars. The ones on my 700 are not the pull back, and I like them lots.

    Nice work; hope your son appreciates the effort. How old is he? My oldest son is only 15, but in a couple of years I hope to "help" him like this. Not sure his Mom will approve...

    looks good dude... Deadly (good) looking bike, your son is going to have some jealous friends I'd think.

    I Like the fact that you didn't go to town with the black paint. Going all black on a bike with such nice chrome would be a sin IMHO...

    PS: still trying to find time for the dbl kick... busy time of the year for me :)
