Just wondering if the wiring for the XS650G and the XJ650 are the same. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Doubt it. The XS is a twin cylinder and the XJ a four. Maybe with some modification but I wouldn't attempt it. Get the right loom for the job.

the xs650 is 2 cylinders so that wiring is different

minimum wiring would be the same except for the additional cylinders and depending on if you have a tci or points. what are you trying to do?

ignition key, voltage regulator right side control on handle bars
    is same part
    right side controlon handle bars
you do have an ignitor but that would be 2 cylinders

you do have similarities but harness would not be interchangable and would need to be modified to fit one bike or the other.
the minimal wiring diagram would work on both bikes as long as you take the ignition system into account as being different
doubtfull it would fit on frames due to location of parts
