Posting a quick rundown of my new issue just to see if anyone has a quick solution.. will be scouring old posts tonight for an answer if nothing presents itself here...

Bike ran great yesterday.. parked it for 2 hrs. came back and seems like the main switch isnt making contact.

The neutral light came on and went out as soon as i hit the starter button with a "click".. After that, the neutral light wouldnt come back on, no matter the main switch position, etc. I checked the battery connection under the side cover and everything looks good/unchanged.

Hoping its just a main switch that i can bypass instead of some other nonsense that will cost me big time...

Some times I have had to wiggle the main switch a little for good contact, but no amount of wiggling is working for me this time..

    ideas?

    Thanks!

The battery looks good, or is good?
How old is it? What is the resting voltage of the battery?

It does sound like the ignition switch has been making poor contact and mnow may not be making any contact at all, but knowing the battery condition will help prevent you from chasing your tail.

Definitely sounds like key switch replacement time but dont rule out the fuse box if original. Once the connection is compromised it can fail under higher amperage draw situations like starting/engaging headlight.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

The battery is a new (~1 yr) Scorpion AGM, resting voltage is 13v. Fuse box is also new/bladed. Visual inspection and wiggle test of the main battery leads seemed ok, but still got the click sound near the battery and no juice when hitting the starter.. I was about to pull the battery completely and found the positive lead was barely finger tight. Must have vibrated loose. Tightened that up proper and now I'm back in business.

The main switch may still need some attention too, but the situation is much improved at the moment :)
