I'm sick of looking at my elbows out the side view mirrors. I know there are mirror extensions out there on the internet but as we all know the right hand side mirror is a left hand thread and most of the options out there only right hand threads.
What i really want is a simple extension that can be bolted into the original mounts on both bars that extends the mirrors out a few inches and the original oem mirrors can be screwed into that extension with proper right and left hand threads for both sides.
Obviously the left hand side would be right hand threads and the right hand side would be left hand threads with a simple 10 mm bolt to attach to the original mounting locations on the bars.
Also the right hand side mirror is very close to the brake fluid reservoir leaving room for any tomfoolery.
I have been searching the web with no luck. In a perfect world i would have a machine shop and fabricate my own or simply cut the mirrors off half between the stalks and tig weld an extension to make the mirrors longer. That would require polishing and a rechrome as well so not really an option. Does anyone else have this issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Years ago I bought Yamaha specific mirrors on eBay that were very long armed. They were goofy looking on the bike but worked great. Likely was 15-18 years ago though.

You lose the original look, but I found bar-end mirrors work very well for me. Otherwise, best extenders I've found only add a couple of inches.
