Hey all! I just did a petcock kit on this 85 xj700. Everything's great, but now I'm leaking fuel from the fuel supply connection. During the rebuild, this hose connector (little aluminum elbow) came out of the petcock easily. Now, reassembled, it's leaking good.

Am I okay to re-install this piece using a fuel resistant sealer? Like Permatex PermaShield?

    Thanks!!

I'm afraid this sealant could in the future break up, travel down and cause havoc in your float bowls. If I were you I'd wrap the place where fuel hose connector goes with some coarse tape to create a seal and raise the surface. This way the aluminum connector will slide in nice and snug.
