Does anyone if there are any other XJ's whose parts would directly fit on my 1985 xj700 MAXIM?
I'm finding it quite uncomfortable with my legs quite bent and getting backache.

Don't think it's had any mods yet, has anyone got any ideas or pics? Ideally need to to be able to get parts in UK as postage and import a pain from the states, NO Offence

How about asking WHICH parts you're talking about?

Because, yeah..........there are other xj's that have parts that will fit directly onto your '85 XJ700 Maxim. Those would be the:

    1986 xj700 Maxim
    1985/1986 xj700 Maxim X
    1985/1986 xj750 Maxim
    1985/1986 xj750 Maxim X

But there are parts that were used on other models, as well, but tell us what parts you are wondering about.

    Hi and thanks fur responding.
I was thinking maybe the seat set up. in the future as I strip this down a bit I'm thinking seals for forks, o rings, head gaskets, valve shims.

I'm mainly interested to see what is available from UK cruisers where parts are more readily accessible

    Thx

A lot of the fork components are shared with the 84-up viragos....

The shims are all 29mm for all of the Xj air-cooled engines

Check w/Len at xj4ever regarding head gaskets
