XJ700N Hitachi float height measurement

    Hello
    I have my HSC33 carbs off and stripped to measure the dry float heights which I believe should be 16mm from gasket face (removed) to top of float. In position ready for the measure, the float is not parallel with the carb body (see photo). Should I measure at the low end near the valve, the outer high end, or in the middle as an average?
    I will check the fuel level with a clear tube afterwards but want to get a close starting point before reassembling and fitting to bike...

    NO they aren’t……do NOT flip them over. Float is on correctly. Measure from the gasket mating surface (at the flat part, not on the ridge), and you measure to the front high point.
