There is a small o-ring under the clutch lever which is shown on the fiche as part #5, but none under the brake lever (altho there is a machined groove which would accomodate it). And there isn't one shown on the fiche for the brake side..

Is this a safety issue of some sort?

I like the idea of a little rubber cushion between the bottom of the lever and the master cylinder housing, it's nice protection from wear. Is there any reason I can't install one? Does anyone run one on the brake side?

Hi Dan, it's just there to help keep the lever from rattling and being loose.

Yeah, that's what I figured....when I removed the original brake lever there was a wear groove on the bottom which the o-ring would probly eliminate. Think I'll bring the new lever to the local A/P and see if they have an o-ring that will fit.

You know....if it's not perfect then it just ain't right!
