    Hello, all.

Was replacing the left crank case cover gasket on my 83 750 Seca and noticed this plug was damaged - a portion had broken off and was sitting in the lower half of the cover. I can't seem to locate a replacement, d0es anyone have any idea where I can find one or if I'm even calling it the right part? I found the phrasing in the attached screenshot from https://www.xjcd.org/book/export/html/654.

    **EDIT**
Upon a little more review I don't actually think the plug was the issue - it actually looks perfectly fine after cleaning off a bit. The piece I located is in the images attached and I'm at a loss as to what it could have broken off from. Thoughts?

Welcome to the forum. That plug keeps the oil in the bevel gears for the driveshaft. @chacal aka Len the site vendor might have them you can contact email him on info@xj4ever.com

That is a piece of the alternator/starter chain guide. It will affect gear changing and you need to split the crankcase to replace it.
