A little more information would help.

Are you trying to eliminate some lights, or add more?
Where specifically is the "mass of extra loom"? Headlight Bucket?

I would deffinately be interested in some pics of how you converted your bike to a trike.

The XJ's use a Y style wiring harness. The wirng loom that runs along the left side is primarily used for the left switch controls (horn, lights). The wiring loom on the right side is for the right switch controls (starter button, kill switch). This all feeds back into the tail section of the harness which is mostly for the ignition/ charging systems.

There is not a lot of extra wiring that could be removed from the harness.

I've seen I don't know how many threads on this. Here's the first one I found with a diagram:

Most people will lecture you about removing the safety circuit, but on a trike, who cares about a kickstand warning? Myself if I wasn't trying to keep my Atari at least looking like it's functioning as intended, I would lose a lot of stuff. Maybe someday if I do something radical with it. But probably not.

Just search for minimal wiring diagrams.
