Welcome to the site! 4 inch drop on the rear? Are you using the shocks or replacing them with struts, or altering the frame with the hardtail look? Reason why I ask is if your keeping the shocks you'll probably loose alot of tread from bottoming out.

Yes, I've transformed my 750 Seca into a bobber of sorts over a couple years just to spend time during the winter months with some thng to do.
Mine was pretty much stock except fot a 4-into-1 Mac exhaust system on it (didn't like the looks of it) and decided to wanted a laid back, feet forward kinda ride instead.
I started with one identical to yours (only ugly grey) and hated the riding position, looks, square headlight and ugly gauges. So...

I removed all of it. I replaced the tank with a 650 Maxim tank. Cut the frame rails in the rear off just ahead of the tailight brace and installed a bobbed Harley rear fender. Used an LED truck tail light (looks perfect) Harley rear turn signals. Harley Sportster solo seat.
I made new side covers out of aluminum. I made my own forward controls with parts from other bikes and some parts I made. I replaced the Seca rear 18" wheel with a 16" Maxim rear wheel/tire to lower the bike some. I cut the rear shocks 1" to lower it even more.
The headlight is from a Kawasaki with brackets from a Suzuki. The speedometer is off of an older CB350 Honda (more accurate then the stock speedometer!) and didn't install a tachometer (why?)
There are other options I've added also, like a 300w amplifier with 5-1/4" speakers mounted on the back of the windshield (Memphis Shades shorty windshield) with a Walkman portable stereo for tunes.
Then did a little repaint job (jet black with red pinstriping) and some other added features (saddlebags and chrome luggage rack)
I swapped the two-piece bars out for handlebars off of an older Goldwing on 4" risers (now they're shoulder height)

This is what it looks like now:

oh, and looking back at those pods it looks like the exact same ones I picked up off of ebay. Let me know how they work out and what mods you make to the carbs to get it all running right.

Be careful going to the "local shop" to get this done. If it's a bunch of kids in the service bays, turn around and leave. Make sure they know the old school stuff or there's an "old guy" still around that knows these old beasts. The shop I used to go to had a part time guy there in his 70's with a passion and oodles of knowledge for the old bikes, he was great until his wife said it was time for florida. Oh well, they don't stay in the garden state forever.

I can get them for you next week. I'm out of town. It's not in the best of condition, but it's ok. If I was going to use it I would line the inside, strip and paint the outside.

I would guess that your bike won't start because it cooled down and now it is way too rich with those 143 jets to start cold. Remember that a hot engine burns fuel easier and more efficiently and so can handle the extra fuel load. Pull a plug. If its black take it back to you Jap bike expert and tell him he's a fool.

BTW, the bike looks awesome. Great job. You've got some skills that I don't have.

i love the front fender on the rear. Let me know how you are going to mount that when you get around to it and post up some detailed pics. I was thinking about doing the same.

The front fender looked great on the back, maybe you could get another front fender painted the same and mount it on the back. I think that would look cool....JM2C. 8)
