Hello. I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post. I'm looking into the XJ Seca for a potential build. I wanted to know if there are any rear wheel options for the Seca. I saw the later virago five spoke wheel might work but that was on a maxim. So, what rear wheels would be compatible on a XJ750 Seca without changing the final drive too much? Let me know. Thanks.

If they were on a maxim 750 -85 they will fit. A lot of people put the seca 750 wheels on the maxim 750 to lower rpm. Not sure on the 650 brakes are smaller i think.

would that be because of the final drive ratio or taller wheel?

I'm also considering going with wired spoke wheels. I think a set from a later model virago would work. I could get the rear redone to be 16" or 17" but still not sure on the gearing.

Taller wheel. You don't need to change the final drive. All the wheel splines and axles are the same. If you use a Virago or XJ650 rear you will need to get the rear brake assembly as the drums are part of the wheel and a different size from the 750. You may also want to consider the XJ 900 (pre diversion) rear and front. the spokes are different than the earlier swirlys.
