I'm new to this, and i just got an XJ750 Maxim with no carb setup. i'm having a heck of a time trying to find complete ready to bolt on carbs. BUT
I did find an 1100 being parted out and can get the whole carb setup with new air pods for 200?

i researched the carb sizes and the 100 is 2mm bigger than the stock xj750 Carbs.

my question is do you guys think that this would work? as far as i know everything else is stock so i know it would be pushing ALOT more air to the engine, but i dont know what else to do cause i cant find the 750 carbs ANYWHERE

750 carbs are the same as 650 carbs but have bigger jets which you have to do to the 1100 carbs to not to mention the amount of work you would have to do to make the 1100 carbs physically fit as they come they wold be about 1/2 inch wider than the 750/650 setup

    eBay.

Carbs from any year (81-83) 750, Seca or Maxim, or any later (YICS) 650 Max will physically fit; the jets might be different if you get a rack off a 650 but they will fit.

Save headache and $$ find a 750 carb rack on eBay or here.

TRY to avoid the pod route UNTIL you get a properly running setup.

If you just got a non running Carb free bike don't be in a hurry to ride or expect to ride in less than a week.

Get some manuals. Do all the maintenance work as if it had 30k miles and zero work was done.

Check rear brakes. Rebuild MC and bleed brakes. Replace brake lines as soon as you can afford them. Check and shim valves correctly. The list goes on a little. Work on that while hunting fir carbs.

Ready to bolt on carbs are unlikely or very pricey, even if bought from a member.

Take your time and do it right.
