I ordered kit to repair leaking petcock on 1982 xj750 Maxim. Old diaphragm is definitely shot, have replacement in kit, but there is no spring between diaphragm and cover when I dissassembled old petcock. I can't find a diagram of petcock assembly ... expected a spring ... anyone know for sure if I am missing a spring or if unit simply doesn't require a spring? Thanks for you help. b

Not sure about the 750's, but my 550 does. It was in between the back plate and diaphragm.
