Got 3 others. A 99 Yamaha XV1100 Virago, a 1987 Honda TLR200 and a 2003 GL1800 Goldwing.. Then there's the TRX450 Foreman ATV. Trying to sell at lease two of them.. Next bike will be a ST1300 Honda when I get a couple of the others sold.

I have a buddy who has an ST1300 that I have ridden several times. They are smooth and handle well. The only bad point I could find was the seat is not at all comfortable. Many have upgraded seats...

    Bill,
We are the dad and son (Mark &Mason) who bought your Seca this week. A couple of questions to help solve some issues. Obviously it starts great when it’s cold but once we got on the road it has a terrible hot start problem. Before I dive into it have you ever checked the valve clearance on it and how long has it been doing that. By that I mean you have to hold the throttle wide open and crank it for a while to get it to start when it’s hot.

Also do you remember when the speedometer stopped working? I appreciate any help you give us on the bike.

What is it doing when it's hot?

    Spinning well, just not firing?
    Flooding/starving?
    Spinning and grating/grinding?
    Etc.......

What did you have to do to get it to start when hot?

Never had a problem starting it when hot... shouldn't have to hold the throttle open. It always started with the throttle in the idle position when hot. The speedo stopped working about 200 miles back. Haven't ridden it hardly at all since it started squealing. Its been a long time since the valves were checked, but they were not noisy, so I didn't see the need. Glad to help with whatever I can.

You WANT to hear the valves. It's just farting when we're were kids--

Hear the noises....smile and laugh, make you feel good
    Don't hear anything? UH- OH.....SBD!!

The valves sound fine to me. But then, my hearing isn't what it once was....

It just cranks over like normal but doesn’t start till you hold the throttle wide open. It has a strong raw fuel odor after it lights so I’m suspecting it’s flooding. No unusual noise for the motor. It then idles and runs just like normal.

Your choke isn't on a little bit is it? It always started in the idle position when warm and usually before the engine turned over once.

Sent you a couple of emails regarding this, I would appreciate it if you would send my license plate back to me. Forgot to take it off the bike before you left.;)
