Need a new engine on my old XJ 900 model 31A from 83.

Dose anyone know, will the newer xj900 motors 58L and 4BB from the middle of 80 and 90 fit in my frame?

    Regards
    Peter

can't say for certain but I'd be surprised if it didn't fit. The 83 was closer to an 850 actually, the later motors were real 900's!

Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
The 83 XJ900R, and the 84-93 XJ900F/XJ900N are essentially the same bike with the main difference being the fork mounted bikini fairing on the 900R and full frame mounted fairng of the 900F. The 900F also included a lower cowl/chin scoop. The 900N did not have a fairing or lower cowl.

The 94 on diversion 900S is a totally different bike an will not interchange with the earlier models.
