    Nice pics.

How come the black bike has XJ650-type instruments instead of the (top heavy) three gauge cluster - was this standard on some later models or is it a retro-fit?

It was the standard gauge on the fairingless 85 XJ900 they put out over here

Fairing has been fitted after market... They were originally naked with a round headlight.

Both bikes are very nice, leaning more toward the black one. Nice blend of colors, but that backrest looks a little freaky although it probably does a good job with packs.

Disassemble the bikes and send them to Wiz. Then you could (buy) them back. :p

If the bike has an "Australian compliance" plate - hasn't it been registered there before?

What is the idea of the upright on the rack - it seems a "Southern hemisphere" thing?

No... We used the Ozzie plates back in the 80's here in New Zealand

The upright...it's a pack rack, for hanging a bag not a passenger on

And still I own 2 bikes... Can't get 2k for the white one or 3k for the black one. I'm going to have to lose more money than I already am to move them :(

Ended up practically giving them away ... $1750NZD for the white (not road legal) one and $1730NZD for the black one (Road legal)

I don't think I'll be getting another one over here... I don't like losing money like that... Net loss on both of about 4k NZD. Would have loved to have kept them but needed the money and had nowhere to store them in Auckland.

So currently bike less and hating it with a vengeance

its a pity you couldnt hang on to them or get them here a bit easier, ive never seen any for sale here that look as good as them, from memory theres one 4 sale on the bay here but they want 2500 for it(has been relisted a couple of times) and no where near as nice for yours, i dont understand why they dont fetch much, i wonder if they arent quite old enough yet,

I suspect it will be a long time before ones this tidy come up for sale at that price.

It's probably a bit of a combination of lack of spending money and people not wanting to service their own bikes
