Have a 2000 Diversion but a bit tall (2m) for it so want to make some mods to drive long distances.

    What mods i'm planning:
    Straight bar
Legs more to front to have more a straight stool sitting position.
A saddle mod to make it wider and more flat.

    Maybe:
Higher screen - not sure if the tallest sold makes it better.
    some wind reflector for knees.
    bigger tank

But has anybody seen any mods done to a Divvy or someone done them selves?

Don't fit straight bars, they are horrendously uncomfortable. Fit risers if you think the bars are too low, or look at higher bars. Conversely fit low rise bars if you think the stocks are too high, but you want at least some sweep back on them.

Leave the stock pegs where they are, you can get bolt on or clamp on pegs and fit them wherever you like so you can move your feet around whilst doing the hard motorway miles.

A reshaped seat could be a sound investment, but I'm fairly sure you can get detachable covers.

Higher screens aren't necessarily better, one with a deflector at the top would be, especially if it's adjustable.

Not straight bar like a stick... more like an enduro bar which is not so much angled towards the driver and is a bit wider.

Didn't understand why is the bringing the pegs such a bad idea most tourers have them quite in front compared to XJ.
Gotta remember that i'm about 2m tall so it is pretty uncomfortable to fold my leg so back in such an angle.
And as i use the back brake a lot i would like it if i had it in my reach.

For resting i have added a pair of pegs in front but that is not the same.

With the screen i have the same thought that higher may not make it better as they are usually quite narrow. So maybe not block the air but try to deflect it.. the question is how is the best way.

    It's like answering to:
Q I have a pot of honey and i want to make cookies
    A Buy a cake

useless.. i've thought about it and if i'd buy something it would be a dual sport.
But that has nothing to do with modifying my Diversion to be better at what it does or should do.

But thanks for caring. l'l give it a thought.

    I thinks it's more like:
Q: I have tea bag and I want to make it taste like hot chocolate
A: Get a cup of hot chocolate

Reason: That way you can still have your tea, AND your hot chocolate.

Not useless. Look at many of our "current rides" lists....you'll see that a lot of us have several different versions of the xj, as well as other bikes. That is because bikes have different performance levels and styles. If I want to ride nimble, I take my 700airhead, if I want to ride fast then I ride the 900rk, and if I want to ride loud then I ride my Intruder 1500LC with open shotguns, etc....

If you want to modify, go ahead and modify. But you're not going to make a touring rig out of a sport bike that handles like a touring rig.

I'm sure you'll get all kinds of answers so keep right on reading.

I classify my 900 as a tourer (even though it handles great). Shaft drive also usually equates to tourer. Just my 2 cents. A lot can be done by a pro upholsterer to improve comfort but with your height I think you will always be up against it and may have to get another bike.
